Goodbye Texas ….

The One Where We Finally Show You Our House in Korea

The long-awaited house tour is finally here!

And by “highly requested,” I mean approximately three people asked for it. But hey, those three people deserve what they asked for.

I wanted to share a little peek into our new home in Korea. Most of you know, the first time I ever set foot in Korea was when we were moving here. So naturally, when it came to finding a house, I had absolutely no idea what I was looking for.

Luckily, Lee came back in May and did the scouting for us. The company he works for provides a relocation company to help find a house or apartment that fits our family’s needs. Lee toured houses, took videos and pictures, and FaceTimed me from Korea while I sat in Texas trying to make one of the biggest decisions of our move from halfway around the world.

And somehow, we landed on this one.

Yard for the dogs? Check.
Plenty of space for the boys? Check.
A killer view? Sign me up.

Add in a guest house that will eventually serve as a man cave for the boys, unless we actually have guests, plus an amazing dressing room, and I was sold. I seriously cannot wait to show you that part.

But first… this is the BEFORE TOUR.

The house came fully furnished, which is amazing, but right now, pretty much all we have is what we managed to cram into our suitcases. We’re still waiting on our air freight and shipping containers to arrive, so this house is definitely going to evolve over the next few months.

So here it is: our little slice of heaven in Korea.

And since I know you’ll notice a few things:

Bidets. Yes. They’re everywhere. And yes, we’re adjusting.

The beds and counters are slightly lower than what we’re used to in the U.S. It’s amazing how quickly you notice things like that.

Shoes stay at the door. You don’t wear shoes in the house, only slippers. There’s a little designated space for shoes, and slippers were even provided.

And the floors are heated, which will be amazing during the winter months.

And then there’s the trash situation.

That deserves its own post because… well… it’s been a doozey.

Welcome to Casa de Cummings. Come take a look around. https://youtu.be/u5JtiZStxPs?feature=shared
